It's good that you tried so hard to make it work but I guess at some point you just have to let bygones be bygones. But there is one book which I couldn't stand and hated with everything in me - which was Shiver. It was so cringey and just so... bland. I can't believe so many people like it! I loved Percy Jackson too though! Those books will always be epic <3Olivia's Catastrophehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12706765857201768908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3286833942649943693.post-11573429509990355712016-10-26T09:29:12.865+01:002016-10-26T09:29:12.865+01:00oh I'm the same about Throne of Glass! Endlessly annoyed at the direction that's gone honestly. *cries* I used to like it but now I'm just annoyed. :P I DO, however, adore Cassandra Clare, Rick Riordan, and Maggie Stiefvater's books.😂 I didn't actually realise Shiver was set around chrismtas haha DUH TO ME. I am obviously due for a re-read. ;)

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury! CG @ Paper Furyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14954615708675952085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3286833942649943693.post-2932650666007230302016-10-25T16:34:42.814+01:002016-10-25T16:34:42.814+01:00It's such a fun series, isn't it?!It's such a fun series, isn't it?!Charlottehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02068135640413650969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3286833942649943693.post-54528351669961624232016-10-25T00:34:50.524+01:002016-10-25T00:34:50.524+01:00What a great tag!! It's not a standard cutesy YA vampire story though, it really highlights have vampires are monsters.
That's how I felt about TMI too - the last three books were the worst.Charlottehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02068135640413650969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3286833942649943693.post-47162040808143311562016-10-22T12:16:45.215+01:002016-10-22T12:16:45.215+01:00Yes! It took me so long to get through them, I felt like the chapters were a wee bit too long for my liking. I really like City of Bones but after that it kind of dragged for me. brooklynsippingacupofteahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14541603951425011326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3286833942649943693.post-73633856067408640552016-10-21T15:58:42.819+01:002016-10-21T15:58:42.819+01:00Welp, Magnus Bane is a Sass Lord so you'll pro...Welp, Magnus Bane is a Sass Lord so you'll probs. like it! :)

I know - it's like dude, how stupid are you?!?! I own the Bane Chronicles though, and I'm hoping I at least like parts of that.

I find that absent parents is a massive theme in YA. They just... don't exist. And when they do they don't interfere? In cases like The Hunger Games where the main character is away from home it's understandable, but then they live with and talk to their parents every chapter?

I have a review for Read Me Like a Book on Goodreads that hasn't made it across to my blog yet, if you're interested.Charlottehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02068135640413650969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3286833942649943693.post-88021568101950018322016-10-21T14:05:14.090+01:002016-10-21T14:05:14.090+01:00I'm not to fangirl levels with The Mortal Inst...I'm not to fangirl levels with The Mortal Instruments - but the fanfiction-style insanity of it all makes it pretty addictive! It's kind of like pixie-sticks in book form ;)

Shiver (sigh) I always want to punch the parents in that book. Your teenager is hiding a wolfboy in her room. And not just for a night.
