May Book Haul

Friday 30 May 2014

In May, not only did I read a few books, but I bought some as well. It's undone all the progress I'd made on cutting my to be read pile down, but I just can't seem to stop myself from buying books when I have money.

I have actually read two of them though, and you'll see them in my May wrap up, so I don't consider this to be bad or anything. Plus, both Asda, WHSmith, and The Works had offers on when I bought these, so it's totally okay and justified for me to have bought these! Let me know, have you read any of these books?

  1. I've read a "Game of Thrones" and the rest of the series. There's a lot of controversy over the new cover, but I hated the simplistic ones they had before. It's odd that they only had fantasy-like covers when it first came out.

    1. I've also read the A Song of Ice and Fire series, but I really liked some of these new landscape covers and my simplistic covers are getting a bit battered so I wanted like a collectors set. I actually prefer the previous covers, but the Game of Thrones, Storm of Swords part 2 and Dance With Dragons part 2 landscape covers drew me in.

  2. I am the same - buying new books when I shouldn't be - but anyway. Clockwork Princess is amazing. I love the TID series and that book left me heartbroken for days - literally.
Ahhh I really like that Game of Thrones cover and now do not know which one I want to get :/

    1. It's just so hard to say no to new books though! I actually thought Clockwork Princess was the weakest of TID trilogy, but I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Cassandra Clare books - I found it to be too long and lots of parts could have been cut, although the battle was good. I think this GoT cover is the nicest in the new release covers; I find the desert on Clash of Kings to not match the story.

Got a thought or an opinion? I'd love to hear it.
