Aesthetically Pleasing Book Tag

Friday 15 September 2017

I think it's safe to say that every bookworm likes a good looking book, so why not show off the best of the best? This tag was created by Book Syrup on Youtube and the original video can be seen here.

1. Best colour combo on a book cover
I love white covers that have splashes of colour, especially yellows and pastels. A bold colour for the typeface always looks nice, too.

2. Best typography/font on a book cover
The font for the entire Lunar Chronicales series is beautiful, but it looks especially stunning on Fairest.

3. Best simple cover
The bold black design catches my eye and seems pertinent to the content, if the title is anything to go by.

4. Best endpages
I could have gone for any of my leatherbound classics, but the complete Hans Christian Andersen collection is just breathtaking.

5. Best map
Of course I went with Westeros. Specifically the colour version from the illustrated A Game of Thrones.

6. Best naked hardback
Even if the collector's edition of Fangirl didn't have this cute drawing of Simon and Baz on it it would still be favourite naked hardback thanks to its lovely mint colour.

7. Best back cover
A simple back cover, but the one for The Strings of Murder fits the theme of the book and looks very elegant and delicate.

8. Best chapter headers
Fallen Grace not only has chapter headers that are pertinent to the story, they also offer insight into Victorian advertising and literature.

9. Best illustrations
I could have easily picked the illustrated A Game of Thrones again as it's stunning, but The Ice Dragon is just as beautiful.

10. Best spine
The colours, the font, and the wolf illustration really capture the feeling of The Wolf Wilder and look beautiful on my shelf.

11. Favourite cover on your shelves
This is perhaps a bit of a no-brainer for most beautiful/favourite cover because just look at it.

    1. It's just so beautiful isn't it? Last year I had a calendar with some of the illustrations so I saved my favourites and have them on my wall :)
