Would You Rather Tag

Friday 13 February 2015

The Would You Rather book tag was originally created by RayKayBooks over on Youtube, but I was tagged by Alma over at Diary of a Booklover. I'm ashamed to say that she tagged me a few months ago, and I'm only just getting round to doing the tag. I'm so sorry Alma, but I'm answering the questions now!

1. Read only trilogies or stand alones?
This is a tough one. I tend to complain a lot about starting series and never finishing them, and also about wanting to read more stand alones but having trouble finding them. Although I do love the world building in trilogies and some of my favourite books come from series, I'm going with stand alones. That way, if I hate it I'm not obliged to read any more books.

2. Read only female or male authors?
Male because Rick Riordan, Stephen King, and George R.R. Martin are three of my favourite authors. I'd be happy just reading their books.

3. Shop at Barnes & Noble or Amazon?
Seeing as we don't have Barnes & Noble in England, I'm going to go with Amazon.

4. All books become movies or t.v. shows?
TV shows. Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are my favourite shows, based off two of my favourite series.

5. Read 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?
5 pages a day. I want to try and be more relaxed about reading, and as it is I don't remember everything about every book I read, so I'd like to start savouring books more.

6. Be a professional reviewer or author?
Reviewer. I'm not very good at creative writing, as writer's block seems to be my unwanted best friend.

7. Only read your top 20 favorite books over and over or always read new ones that you haven't read before?
Only read new ones. Although I do love my favourite books, I'd like to read more and find more favourites.

8. Be a librarian or book seller?
Book seller. The thought of having my own little bookshop is incredibly appealing.

9. Only read your favorite genre, or every genre except your favorite?
Only read my favourite genre. My favourite genre is fantasy, and within that there's high fantasy, urban fantasy, historical fantasy, paranormal fantasy... You get the idea.

10. Only read physical books or eBooks?
Physical books. I don't even care about the advantages of eBooks I just do not like them and will never be converted. Physical books all the way.

  1. I'm terrible with finishing series. I just get sidetracked after a while! I also prefer paperback over ebooks, but they're so convenient!

    1. So am I, especially if not all the books have been released yet! I don't really get along with ebooks, partly because I use my tablet primarily for gaming and the internet, and partly because I just love having shelves full of books!

  2. I agree with choosing standalones. I never get around to finishing series! :) And also TV shows would be so much better than movies. They would have so much more time to space everything out and get all the details right. :)

    1. I'm awful when it comes to finishing series. I've barely completed any! TV shows are the best. It means I can binge watch like I've recently been doing with Dexter. :')

Got a thought or an opinion? I'd love to hear it.
