Emily's questions
1. Do you eat while reading? What is your favourite snack?
Not really, no. I'm not very good at multitasking when reading, and so if I do get something to eat I'll finish the chapter I'm on, eat, then start reading again. My favourite snacks are crisps.
2. Have you ever read a book and loved it, but a lot of people didn't like it?
Off the top of my head, no. I usually read popular books to form my own opinion over the hype, so they're pretty well loved to start with. Normally, I read a book that everyone loves and I hate it.
3. Favourite children's book?
I loved the My Secret Unicorn series when I was younger. It was about a pony that could turn into a unicorn, what's not to love?!
4. If you were on a deserted island and could have one fictional character with you, who would it be?
Probably Katniss because she knows how to hunt and start fires and just generally how to survive. She did win two Hunger Games, after all.
5. Which book character would you want as your boyfriend/girlfriend?
The first character who comes to mind is Prince Maxon from The Selection. As I read that series I couldn't help that think he was perfect. However, he and America are such a sweet couple that I don't want anything to ever come between them.
6. Favourite heroine?
I'm going to cheat and give my top five because I'm awful at making decisions and picking just one. Daenerys Targayen and Sansa Stark from A Song of Ice and Fire, Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, Allison Sekemoto from The Blood of Eden, and Michonne from The Walking Dead.
7. Favourite subject in school?
Psychology, even though I on'y studied it for two years. I've never been as interested or as enthusiastic about a subject before. I actually wanted to do the work and learn more for it, whereas with everything else I've been apathetic and doing things to the bare minimum just to check the boxes.
8. What is your favourite bookstore to buy books from?
Waterstones. Just ask any of the members of staff from my local shop; I'm sure they recognise me by now.
9. Favourite book to movie adaption?
I thought Catching Fire was extremely faithful to the book, and it was so well directed and acted I could forgive any scenes that were cut. It just brought everything I'd imagined whilst reading it to life.
10. Have you ever damaged a book by accident?
Yes. Usually I drop food on them and stain them (another reason why I don't eat whilst reading), or I lean on the pages or close the book incorrectly and bend them. My cats have also been known to chew the corners of my books if I leave them unattended, which is annoying but they're animals and that's what they do.
11. Do you prefer romance or more action-packed books?
I can never get enough action in a book. If I could, I'd read purely action books with no romance and only platonic and familial relationships. I can't think of any books I've gone for that have been 100% romance with no action whatsoever - the most romantic book I've read is The Selection, and that's a dystopia with rebel forces and lots of fights. So, yeah. Action over romance any day.
I loved your answers! I am studying psychology next semester, and I am really looking forward to it! I also need to visit Waterstones one day! It's a shame they don't have them in Canada, but hopefully I'll be able to visit the U.K. soon. And yes, action over romance any day!
ReplyDeleteI hope you love it as much as I did! And if you're unsure about anything feel free to get in touch! Waterstones is incredible, especially if you get the chance to visit one of the larger stores in London or another big city.
