TBR Feature #17

TBR Feature is the chance for me to, every Wednesday, pick one of my unread books and discuss it: why I picked it up, when I'll get round to reading it, if I'm still interested in it at all etc.

Little Black Classics by Penguin

This is a bit of a cheat, I know, but these books are so short and I have so many of them it would be ridiculous if they each got their own post. Lumping them all together into makes the most sense, as I'll probably end up lumping them together by reading them back to back as well.

My friend, Lucy, told me about these when they were first published and I decided that I was going to use them as a way to delve into classic literature. In total, I picked up twenty-seven of them and I still have fifteen that are unread. However, since being introduced to these I have picked up a few full length classics. Okay, some of them were for college, but there were a couple that I actually enjoyed.

It's not that I have anything against classic literature as a whole, it's just not for me. I find certain pieces and authors hard to read and understand, and some works are just plain boring. By way of the little black classics, I'm hoping to find some hidden gems and a desire to read across the decades.

Have you read any Little Black Classics?
