TBR Feature is the chance for me to, every Wednesday, pick one of my unread books and discuss it: why I picked it up, when I'll get round to reading it, if I'm still interested in it at all etc.
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
The arrival of this book came as a surprise to me, as I didn't know that it had been ordered. I'd put it on my Christmas list - even though it wasn't coming out until February - as a reminder to myself, even though I hadn't enjoyed Red Queen as much as I expected. What can I say? I like to give books second chances.
I'm guessing mum had pre-ordered it in December, seeing as I'd showed an interest in it, because the next thing I know an Amazon parcel arrives and its contents is being handed over to me. A shock, yes, but I'll never say no to a book.
Despite giving Red Queen two stars, I do want to read Glass Sword. I've heard some people say it's better than the first one, but I've also heard people say it's just as bad and the main character is just as annoying. I'll never know until I pick it up for myself.
Have you read Glass Sword?
I'm so terrified to pick this book up for the same reason! I wasn't a big fan of Red Queen and after giving it 3 stars (at the time I never gave 2 star reviews) AND after hearing about some of the negative feedback it's gotten, I'm even less motivated to pick it up ):
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can't see myself getting to this any time soon because I was so annoyed with the first. It just came across as a Hunger Games/X-Men mash up... and not in a good way. Don't think I want to subject myself to such a whiny, bratty main character again either.
